The Man Behind the Conference...

Dr. David J. Fletcher is a renowned expert in the field of occupational and preventive medicine. His desire to remain on the cutting-edge, in the state of Illinois, created the annual work injury conference we know today. Since 1992, the conference has grown to be one of the most interactive, well-known conferences of its kind in the state of Illinois. Dr. Fletcher felt that by being the one to organize a conference, such as this one, that it would be a way in which to expose topics, concerns and provide solutions to our state’s workers’ compensation issues. Each year the conference strives to provide an open forum that brings together diverse groups of individuals, all of who possess a vital stake in the Illinois workers’ compensation system. Aimed at improving the current system, new topics, discussion and debates are brought to the forefront to audiences who will benefit the most from this type of venue. Businesses and industries are continuing to leave Illinois based on the expense of workers’ compensation costs. As a small business owner himself, Dr. Fletcher’s motivation is to not only increase knowledge in this field of study, but also to try and keep business and industry in Illinois. Thus the reason we see the work injury conference in its 19th year!
